Native American spiritualists: could you explain this and maybe give some advice please?

A friends niece recently finished her training as a medicine woman (Cherokee). For some reason (I don't know the belief system) she asked him to go on a vision quest. He agreed to do so immediately. First, why would she ask him to do that? Second, how can he do that, since he is an atheist? Third, is there a way to talk them out of it, since pointing out health issues didn't work (heart disease)?Native American spiritualists: could you explain this and maybe give some advice please?
From what I understand a vision quest is a way to get in touch with your animal totems and to become closer to the earth from which life sprang.


Having visions and/or having psychic abilities has nothing to do with the fact that someone is an atheist or some religion.

whatever your friends niece is, she is not a medicine woman of any sort. it is not a course one takes and then finishes. she probably paid some fraud a lot of money to learn ';authentic native teachings'; but if she wants to know how authentic her ';medicine woman'; title is, tell her to go to the cherokee rez and see how accepted she is as a healer. they will run her off. she has been scammed.





and you have every reason to be afraid for your friend's health on this so called ';vision quest'; as every year several people die because they are trying to do things they have no clue about and are unprepared for, including vision quests and sweats. that girl is playing with fire, so to speak and someone is going to get hurt.
First of all there is NO training to become a medicine ';person';... A person either is or isn't...PERIOD!!!

First of all you need to find out for sure that you are pregnant before telling her, and if you are then you tell her, and if you are NOT pregnant then you should still talk to her about sex and some form of birth control since you are sexually active. Good Luck honey,
With the first pregnancy I wrapped the pregnancy test in a box and gave it to her. With the second I sent my son in wearing a t-**** that said he was the big brother..she got it!..You have to tell her one way or another your already pregnant and nothing she says or you say will change that fact. but i would definitely make sure you are before you throw a curve ball at her like that.
You are pregnant and telling her will not change that fact so just sit her down and tell her.

Marry first. Do not marry young. A guy generally starts maturing after age 23 or 24. A girl should not burden herself with having a baby until she is at least 21.

Save your money and make sure you are financially ready to have a child.


Make sure that you are emotionally ready and mature enough to deal this the numerous problems and expenses a child will introduce into your life.


Be sure that you are willing to give up the partying, frequent nights out, and spontaneous vactions.

Get your college education first, get a real good paying job, start buying your house, THEN have kids. Try to have at least $10,000 in the bank before you have kids......they r expensive and it will take alot of money to raise them. Just to get started on a family with furniture , clothes, car seats, and diapers is about $3,000, for your first one. Once you do start a family you shouldn't space the children out any more than 3 years apart (if you are planning).........lol... life doesn't always go according to plan.
