What's the best advice you have for someone new to Yahool Answers?

Hi there. The best advice that I have for you is to follow the Community Guidelines. When you are Level 1, your questions and answers are much easier to be removed by someone who reports your questions or answers, so make sure that every single answer and question that you put onto Yahoo! Answers follows the CGs, and you'll be fine.

Other than that, have fun and enjoy Yahoo! Answers! Welcome!

Hope this helps :)What's the best advice you have for someone new to Yahool Answers?
It is a good forum to get some really good info. You receive points for answering questions it cost you points asking questions. Points really do not mean anything except going to the next level and bragging rights. Make sure you read the guidelines and try to stay with in them because if you don't you will get a violation and your account can be deleted. Don't take a lot of it serious on here because you will see all kinds of questions and answers on here. You can not be sensitive because some people on here can be very rude. Have fun and over look the dumb rude nasty remarks. Good luck!!!!What's the best advice you have for someone new to Yahool Answers?

Never advise anyone ; Advice is least welcomed by those who need it most !';

What is the best advice you can give your daughter about starting a relationship?

Most fathers are very concerned who the future husband his daughter will eventually marry. A relationship is a committment which may eventually end in marriage. I have seen so many disasterous marriages as a result of the background and attitude of a boyfriend.What is the best advice you can give your daughter about starting a relationship?
it is great you want to talk to your daughter about this, i wish my dad would have. --one thing your daughter should keep in mind is to always be herself, sometimes especially when we are young we forget this. if she is raised with respect to herself and others, she will make good decisions when it comes to relationships, drugs, you name it.What is the best advice you can give your daughter about starting a relationship?
Very good answer. I agree.

Know yourself. Live intentionally. Be honest (with yourself first, then others). Communicate. Learn what it is that means 'love' to your partner. Tell them what you perceive as well. Forgive (both). Relationships are not 50/50, they're 100/100 (but never lose yourself in the process).
Take everything slowly. Find common goals in what they want out of life and careers. don't rush into sex. think honestly and clearly.
First dad, you can't judge a book by it's cover, my husband...who is a wonderful husband and soon to be an excellent father...was an idiot as a boyfriend. People grow up and people change.

Second, I think the best and most important thing you can teach your daughter...is to remember herself.

Alot of times women give themselves 100% to the relationship and they sacrifice their individuality and their opinions and their autonomy to conform to the relationship.

Just teach her that relationships require loyalty and devotion and faith..but first and foremost, she has to remember that she needs to preserve her loyalty and devotion and faith in HERSELF first.

Two individual parts come together and evolve together to form a successful relationship...be leary of those that want her to conform into something she's not. Her mate should love her for who she is and what she can teach him..not for what he thinks he can make her.
Take things one step at a time and at your own pace. Don't ever do anything that you will regret and are not ready for. Most of all trust yourself. Tell her is she can not tell you about it then chances are she should not be doing it. Tell her to think about what she does and whom she sees because some guys are jerks. See how they treat there friends before committing to them. Just follow your heart and let you conshounce be your guide. Good luck.
be true to yourself, follow your gut insticts and don't back down on your beliefs, goals and wants. If the relationship does not feel right then leave
Not to open her legs
B patient with in ur inlaws and husband.
Go slow - real love takes time.

It's not about romance and passion, it's about him being there when you're sick as a dog and making sure you get the care you need.

And if he tells you you're fat or stupid or lazy, call your dad immediately. And Dad, don't ask what went wrong - just be there for her, no matter what.

  • Do you have any advice for taking the road test to get my license in Massachusetts?

    Im takin my ROAD test Friday and i was just wondering if anyone that has taken it RECENTLY has any good advice...

    also do you have to go inside and wait in the line before you take it or do you just pull up to the back door and they come to you??Do you have any advice for taking the road test to get my license in Massachusetts?
    You have to go in and let them know you are there. Be sure you have proof of insurance and registration. Be sure all your signals and lights are working on the car, or you'll have to reschedule. Be sure you know how to back up along a curb! I failed that the first time around. They dont test us on parallel parking in my area of california, but be sure to know if they test you on that. And if you fail the first time, dont cry like I did. It's okay... and 2 weeks isnt that long to wait to try again.

    I'm in college right now..a full time student, majoring in psychology and counseling for the chemically dependent. My view is, unless someone meets the qualifications of a psychologist, they likely are not ';experts'; in the field of psychology. Most people writing in answers in this forum are not even students of psychology. They are just people like me who are trying to help others with what knowledge they do have. And we have a responsibility to be very careful about what we say. People's lives could depend on it. I think it's important for people to understand that most of us are not experts, and when it concerns questions of great importance about psychological health, one should consult an expert. And getting a second or third opinion doesn't hurt, either.

    it is not my proffesion yet but i want to be a therapist and yes i would give advice on here
    In where I am lacking in a degree I make up for in experience. I did pass the initial radiology courses but I usualy don't need that information for a pyscology question. I have grown up with people with serious mental problems and I have also had my share of obsticles to overcome. I wasn't taught about the pyscological medications and problems, I personally have tried them and participated in programs and therapy inpaitient and out patient. After I realized how much time I was wasting with no signs of recovery decided that I would have to heal myself and I did. The professionals may have gone to school but do they actually know how it feels to be so depressed that you don't want to continue living, resorted to self harm to ease the pain, or have been perscribed almost every medication and know what the side effects feel like? I think inorder to be able to relate to someone well enough to help that person to untangle the knots of misconceptions that torment you causeing all the disorders they like to label people with by someone who knows and who has actually been through it all and can tell someone how to help themselves to overcome what is hurting them.

    I hope I have not offended anyone I am not saying professionals are not good people or they are without good intentions, but this is my oppinion based on my experiences. I have had about six different diagnosises and haven't taken medications for years I have completly turned my life around and I know everyone can improve themselves if they want to and like me mostly just need to realize that they can.

    I need as many advice for a healthy life style as possible!Can you help me please?

    Thanks.I need as many advice for a healthy life style as possible!Can you help me please?
    Sleep 8 hours a night, dring 8 glasses of water everyday. eat good wholesome foods, get exercise everyday.I need as many advice for a healthy life style as possible!Can you help me please?
    make sure u eat a balenced diet,excercise regularly, get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water.
    I read somewhere ';if it doesn't rot don't eat it';. Eat things that are closest to there natural state. Stay away from food with chemicals, hormones, sugar, and no processed foods.
    Exercise and eat healthy. Exercising doesn't necessary mean that you can't have fun, if I where you I would do something I can enjoy (in my case squash and aerobics). Same thing with eating healthy, don't starve yourself to death, eat a lot fruits and vegetables and if you could change to wheat it would be better. Eat 3 times a week meat ,possibly only once red meat(of course this doesn't appeal to vegetarians), and 3 times fish.
    eat right. no more pizza or chinese food or stuff like that. most cornor stores or nearby stores might make sandwiches. instead of grabbing take out grab that. instead of having an afternoon coke drink water(saves 97 calories) instead of using ur break to eat a snack or catch up on work walk up and down stairs or walk around somewhere( burned 100 calories)

    Bicycling=440 calories burned

    Hiking=370 calories burned

    Horseback Riding=279 calories burned

    Running=1,118 calories burned

    Walking=265 calories burned

    Swimming=419 calories burned

    Tennis=489 calories burned

    Also remember eating right is also really important too. Try eating things like grapefruits, apples, grapes, oranges and stuff like that.

    Breakfast- a fruit and toast with cream cheese or something else that doesnt have too mcuh fat.

    Lunch-a fruit, a sancwich with lettuce and mayo and cheese. You can do ham too but I don't recomend meat and carbs toegther.

    Dinner-Try something low fat. You can get many recipes on foodnetwork.com or on allrecipes.com. Don't eat anything fried or all your work is in the toilet.

    Bedtime snack-an orange

    Other snacks throughtout the day-fruits, toast, a piece of meat no bigger than your palm. I also reccomend you keep a checklist of stuff u eat like if you eat a carbohydrate, put a check next to it and protein and vegetable and fruit and dairy do the same thing. Kind of like a food diary. Don't do a stupid diet cuz that is stupid.If the ingredient label says ';High Fructose Corn Syrup';, or anything with the words ';Partially Hydrogenated'; then put it down. Also choose sugar over artificial sweeteners. GOOD LUCK!
