I need some advice for college that no one ever tells you?

What are the tidbits that I should know before beginning my college experience? (Things that websites don't tell you. Personal advice from past or current college students). What should I expect in my daily college life and how should I deal with everything effectively?

Sincere answers please! Thanks. :)I need some advice for college that no one ever tells you?
well...college wasn't that much different from high school for me. Still has the same immature, snobby, and self absorbed students...just different people than the ones you went to high school with.

don't expect too much, but don't be scared either. You'll get the hang of everything after a few days.

Just remember, you are responsible for you now. No more mommy and daddy telling you to clean your room and do your homework before you can go out with your friends.

Be nice to your roomie even if you don't like him/her!! They live with you, they could have sex on your bed just to get back at you for something. Oh yea...it sucks.I need some advice for college that no one ever tells you?
Take your classes seriously. It is very easy to get distracted, when you have new surroundings, new people, new classes, new living quarters, new responsibilities -- and often lots of people partying and often behaving badly around you. Some of the social aspects of college are important, too; but don't forget that your classes are the main reason you are there. Plan for time to study and keep up during class so you don't have to panic and cram before tests.
Not every person you meet will like you. Take your classes seriously and don't be one of those stupid freshmen who crams the night before. The library is your friend so start going there daily. Beware of the Freshman 15 or freshman 20. People will have loud sex in the room next to you, or even your room... so don't wimp out of reporting it to your RA if you aren't ok with it. Don't do drugs and alcohol unless you want to lose any chance of ever getting federal aid (FAFSA rejects people with criminal records) and a job. Find friends within your major. Live off of campus if it is cheaper.

***And most importantly, you will probably HATE your first roommate (everyone does), so don't get your hopes up. I have yet to meet one person who liked their first college roommate. And never become roommates with ';best friends'; b/c you guys will probably get sick of each other pretty quickly. ***
