Whats the best advice you can give to fat person who needs to lose weight?

Not just to focus on the weight they lose but the inches too. When a person is fat they normally have lower self confidence than slimmer people so if someone wants to lose weight, telling them how they'd feel afterwards is a great incentive. I am big myself and i have confidence, but recently i have begun exercising again, an hour a day on the cross trainer and i am going back to swim at the weekends. This coupled with some weight exercises has made me feel alot better in myself.

I have ate relatively healthily the majority of the time, but it is important not to make ';sinful'; foods too much of a guilty thing. I treat myself to a tiramisu or some chocolate once a week and only drink diet drinks, but the majority of the time i drink water.

Drinking a pint of water when you feel hungry is a good way to see if you are hungry or not. Drink the water and wait 30 mins, if you are still hungry, then eat. After the first month of this regime i am going to go out and reward myself with some new shoes or a new dress. I deserve it for my hard work!!!!

The willpower to exercise is needed but once you begin to see and fel results it is easier, not to mention the health benefits i have already gained, such as sleeping more easily and feeling like i have more energy in general. By christmas and new year i hope to be considerably slimmer..........but i have not set an unrealistic goal like going from an 18 to a 10. If you can achieve dropping one dress size in this time it is still a major achievement if you have been bigger for a while.Whats the best advice you can give to fat person who needs to lose weight?
Exercise is probably the best advice--more muscular people burn more calories even when they're not exercising. You don't eve have to bulk up and gain obvious muscle to enjoy this benefit.

From there, eat smaller portions, especially out at restaurants or parties. Take smaller bites--you will feel fuller if you take longer to eat. At a party (and only at a party), go ahead and eat the bad stuff, but only take a couple bites worth of each. Use a plate (preferably a small one), rather than standing over a table.

If you're hosting the party, reduce the calorie content of your food as much as possible (for you) without sacrificing taste (for your guests). If that's not possible, buy something else lower-calorie that you will eat willingly (to reduce the impact of party food).

At a restaurant, eat only half of what you order, and take the rest home (at least if it will keep for long enough to eat it the next day). If you know you're going to feel full before you finish your meal anyway, skip any extra courses like appetizers and desserts (if you won't feel full, order it and eat half).

Drink beverages that don't contain calories.

I can tell you much more if you e-mail me, but for now, I don't know anything about what your current habits are.Whats the best advice you can give to fat person who needs to lose weight?
Make healthy food choices and drink green tea! When I wanted to lose weight, green tea helped me a lot. It speeds up your metabolism and fills you up like water. It also has many other health benefits.

Try to include at least 30-45 minutes of exercise in your daily schedule as well. It's essential to work out if you want to lose weight effectively.
walk- an hour walking at a brisk pace burns 300-400 cals depending on your body structure and speed at which you walk.

drink plenty of water- it keeps you hydrated and feeling full so you won't want to snack as much.

DON'T SNACK- it adds up hidden calories and can seriously alter your weight in the long run *that's from personal exprience i used to snack all the time!*

and finally, READ LABELS. It might seem horrible having to count and limit calories but it soon becomes second nature and you don't have to be strict with yourself- just be sensible. If you know you want cake and your gonna eat it- that's fine. Just shcedule in an hour or half hour walk to help burn some of it off!

Good luck with your weight loss
TREAT EVERY DAY LIKE IT';S YOUR FIRST DAY OF DIETING. EVERY DAY IS YOUR FIRST DAY!!!

Which means every DAY you've got to bring it!

Even if you have ONE bad day you've got to KEEP GOING!

IT';S A LIFELONG COMMITMENT.

And, YOU can do it! If a 29 inch midget who weighs 110 pounds can do it, so can you!

I'm being perfectly serious, I read about a midget with a bad leg who exercised and got a good idea of what a real portion is, who did it and feels wonderful today.

THIS IS YOUR LIFE%26gt; ONLY YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CONTOL YOUR DESTINY.
I have alot of advice. Can't just pick one, but I'll try making it a small list.

Get membership to the gym. Start off going there three times a week for an hour.

Don't eat after 6pm.

Drink lots of water.

Cut back on food.

Don't eat junk food.

Last but not least, don't sit and watch tv, walking is a good way to get in tone and burn off those calories.
Start walking. Start with 5 minutes a day and increase it every week by a minute or two. Don't take seconds. Cut back on sweets. Stop drinking soda.

Doesn't sound like much fun, does it? It works, though.
Stop making excuses to yourself. Don't start tomorrow, start today. If you mess up, don't give up... just do better next time. Don't expect results too fast... just keep up the good work and in time it will pay off! This obviously isn't advice about diet and exercise, but the things I mentioned are very important.
well, cut out the junk food, soda, fried food and fill up on water, fruits, vegetables, and proteins. also try to work out around 30 to 40 minutes a day maybe 3-5 days a week. also, stay motivated and positive. good luck =)
